Ferrari has pulled away the curtains on The 458 Speciale A. The “A” in this case stands for “Aperta” or “open” in English, and open is what the mouths of onlookers will be when you blow by them in Ferrari’s fastest droptop ever. Under the hood is the hardtop Speciale’s 4.5-liter V8 that cranks out a whopping 597 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. 0 to 62 reportedly happens at a blistering 3.0 seconds, or just a tenth slower than the coupe. The interior is a sumptuous mix of carbon fiber, Alcantara, and other fine metals and leather. The 458 Speciale A is available only with Ferrari’s dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox, and only 499 of these supercars are being created, so when it’s officially announced this week, prepare to pounce with likely more than $300,000USD in hand.
