Google has officially revealed that they are creating an OS for smartwatches. The company has announced Android Wear today, a version of the operating system designed specifically for smartwatches, it does seem a bit similar to the layout of the Google Glass Operating System. They are already working with the likes of Samsung, Asus, HTC, LG, and Motorola on implementing the OS on their upcoming wearable devices. Some key features are the speech commands, communication with your smartphone, and of course the functionality and ease in which you access the info on the smartwatch. LG has already leaked images of what their smartwatches with the Android Wear iOS would look like and the image in the video is Motorola’s up coming smartwatch.
For now there are no specific news on the release date and on other devices that will come with the new Android Wear operating system, but expect to hear much more about Android Wear at Google I/O from June 25th to 26th, which is just a couple of months away. For more info head over to Android Wear.
