To celebrate the opening of a their new Hankyu Umeda store, Leica has just launched two limited edition cameras that will available only in Japan. The first, the Leica Maroon X, is limited to 50 units and gives the timelessly designed body a maroon finish that nicely highlights the camera’s simplistic arrangement and 35mm f/1.7 ASPH lens. The second release, the Leica D-LUX Rolling Stone 100th Anniversary Edition camera, saw the brand work closely with Rolling Stone magazine to utilize the camera’s box-like body to highlight 10 different bands with an autograph print up near the dials. This second design will be limited to 200 units, 20 cameras for per band/musician, while the Maroon was paired with a matching leather strap. Otherwise, the stats and internal workings of each camera, including the D-LUX’s 12.8 megapixel sensor and 3-inch LCD screen, remain the same.
