If the digital-print heavy tees from Milan-based designer Marcelo Burlon reminds you of some of the pieces you’ve seen from Givenchy’s recent collections, it’s probably because Burlon counts Riccardo Tisci as one of his best friends, as well as prime influence on his work. For Fall/Winter 2014, Marcelo Burlon County of Milan expands on its usual line of tees to include shorts, jackets and sweatshirts, with many of the basic black pieces transformed through South American bird feather prints and a stylized, kaleidoscopic take on wildlife, with many of the boundary-pushing designs mined from Burlon’s Argentinian upbringing.
