Nike HTM continues its celebration of the Air Max this month with a chance to hear directly from Nike CEO Mark Parker on the inspiration and thinking behind his Nike Air Max Ultra M. Along with Hiroshi Fujiwara and Tinker Hatfield, Parker created a model that reflects his contributions to the brand and the trio’s longstanding partnership.
If your eye is drawn immediately to the big window, you’re going to be behind Parker’s design, which is inspired by the Air Max BW and his role as the visionary behind visable air. Parker was up-front about his love for the bold and loud design decision, allowing the shoe to clearly communicate its role in life. Style-wise, Parker played with hard lines to transition color across the upper, joining the blues and black with the brand’s jacquard woven tech and the classic cut and sew of 80’s runners. The result is touch of modern pixelation on the toe with the clean lines of classic builds.
“I love simple, stealth products too, but sometimes it’s fun to come up with something really bold and loud.”
The Nike Air Max Ultra M will be available on March 24 on nike.com/airmax and on Air Max Day at select retailers.
