Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci has revealed to Style.com that he has collaborated with Nike. The offerings from the collaboration are slated to hit retailers this spring and will carry the NIKE RT logo. “For me, Nike represents a lot: my childhood, America,” Tisci said. “In Europe, America is the flag, McDonald’s, Marlboro, and Nike, for a kid it’s very important.”
With the recent departure of Kanye West over to Adidas, along with Adidas’ ongoing Jeremy Scott, Rick Owens, and Raf Simmons collaborations, this is definitely a splash that Nike needed to break back into the fashion headlines for the sportswear giant.
