Pharrell Explains Work on Jay Z’s Black Album for Life + Times’ DECODED
Jay Z’s eighth studio album – The Black Album – debuted in 2003 at number one on the Billboard charts and has since gone on to sell over three million copies in the United States alone. Arguably one of his better projects, The Black Album will celebrate its 10-year anniversary later this month. To pay tribute, Life + Times sat down with Pharrell – producer of “Change Clothes” and “Allure” – to discuss his experiences with the Brooklyn mogul. In the six-minute clip, Williams touches on everything from his color inspirations – as you know the polymath sees sounds – to Jay’s mastering longevity.
