Having settled into the humdrum and routine of being a father to his son Jack, Tom Ford has shown a marked shift with the unveiling of this season’s collection into what he knows best: suiting. Taking inspiration from Andy Warhol’s Factory, pinstripes and Prince of Wales checks opened the collection, with fob chains and handmade leather shoes rounding out the sartorial ensembles. Afros and rose-tinted sunglasses accompanied some of the more casual looks, which saw pieces such as turtlenecks, motor jackets, patchworked camo suedes and slim-line tonic mohair suits add to the unmistakeable atmosphere of New York in the ’70s. Closing the collection with trippy evening jackets that incorporated era-appropriate visuals and psychedelic reflective prints, Tom Ford puts out another strong showing that keeps him firmly at the top of the menswear game.
