The URWERK EMC is the first and only mechanical watch on the market with a built-in precision-testing device, enabling the wearer to obtain information on the watch’s performance and subsequently make the necessary adjustments to the finest chronometric performance. Inside is an in-house movement powered by two stacked mainspring barrels, located near the crown. It features an integrated circuit board, as well as an optical sensor atop the balance wheel. The titanium and steel case is coated in a “shot-blasted” satin finish, resulting in a striking matte black aesthetic that features pops of bright yellow and white on the four subdials. Pricing for one of the 55 numbered pieces of the URWERK Black amounts to 18,000 Swiss Francs, or about $126,000 USD.
